SHRUB DISTRICT RECEIVES GOOD FOOD AWARD 2018
The fruit-first cocktail vinegar brand known for perfect balance receives
industry recognition for their “Just Grapefruit” Shrub.
Washington, D.C. (January 22, 2018) – Shrub District, the perfectly balanced cocktail vinegar made from fresh whole fruit, received a Good Food Award for their “Just Grapefruit” cocktail vinegar on Friday, January 19th, at the Herbst Theater in the historic San Francisco War Memorial and Performing Arts Center. An annual awards ceremony now in its eighth year, the Good Food Awards recognizes American food and drink crafters who demonstrate a commitment to creating tasty, authentic and responsible products and in doing so, better the nation’s food system. Shrub District elevates the at home drinking experience by providing bottled cocktail vinegars and syrups made from fresh fruit, herbs, and spices with a shelf-life of one year.
The “Just Grapefruit” cocktail vinegar by Shrub District provides layer-on-layer of grapefruit flavor from the fresh juice, pith, and peel of organic Texas grapefruits. Tart and not-too-sweet, it finishes with a soft bitterness that cuts through any cocktail. Use “Just Grapefruit” as a tonic substitute with a splash of seltzer, in a Paloma, or a Hemingway Daiquiri.
Shrub District was honored amongst winners from across 15 different categories (beer, charcuterie, cheese, chocolate, cider, coffee, confections, elixirs, fish, honey, oils, pantry, pickles, preserves, spirits). All winners demonstrate not only gastronomic excellence, but also a deep commitment to sustainable social and environmental practices.
“I’m thrilled to join so many great craft producers at the 2018 Good Food Awards. The Good Food Foundation represents everything we stand for at Shrub District—delicious food made from the best ingredients possible. I’m really proud to represent DC out here in San Francisco. Afterall, there’s no better place to find inspiration for fresh flavors and ingredients than California,” said Don Morton, Shrub District Owner and Founder.
