Shrub District founder Don Morton appeared as a guest on the Morning Blaze with Doc Thompson. The feature, called Building America, focuses on American entrepreneurs working to build their businesses.
Excerpt from the Morning Blaze interview:
Don Morton: What’s cool about the beverage world is… we drink together. We have this great tradition in America of gathering around the punch bowl, or getting together at the continental Congress and racking up a big bar bill in order to come together as people, have a good time. So that’s what we want to focus on — let’s gather in backyards across America, let’s make cocktails as approachable as wine and beer. Let’s create that atmosphere for folks.”
Doc Thompson: Yeah, you’re right. There were a couple of main gathering places for people to discuss politics and ideas back hundreds of years ago. And that was churches and pubs. Those were your two main gathering places.
Don Morton: And what do they say? In wine there is truth.
Don Morton: What I love about the product is, we make our Blueberry Basil shrub, and it’s like catching fruit in a bottle so that when we make cocktails, we can inject that real fruit liquid rather than getting a bunch of muddled blueberries in your teeth or stuck in your straw.
Doc Thompson: It’s an awesome idea. So how difficult is it to put together a business. I mean, you’ve got to put together all the products, right, first?
